Teacher Training

Schools Direct (Unsalaried) at Rosecroft Primary School

At Rosecroft Primary School we have been supporting PGCE students for many years and have experienced and enthusiastic staff, who value the process of mentoring student teachers through their first steps to becoming outstanding teachers.

In partnership with Encompass Teaching and Learning School, SNITT and the UEA we can offer a supportive Early Years, KS1 and KS2 placement where students are able to develop and progress their teaching skills.

School Direct students at Rosecroft Primary School are given a personal experience tailored to their own experiences and interest. They will complete 2 placements during the year.

Placement 1 is at Rosecroft Primary School in either a Foundation Stage or KS1 or KS2 class. This placement takes place in both the Autumn and Summer Terms.

Placement 2 is organised especially for the student in a school that meets their teaching development needs. This placement takes place in the Spring Term.

In partnership with Encompass we also offer 2 weeks in a special needs school.

School Direct students attend the UEA or SNITT to complete their academic studies and work alongside the PGCE students. They are required to complete the same assignments and work to the same teaching standards in their teaching placements.

School Direct students at Rosecroft Primary School form a close working relationship with their class teacher and the School Support Tutor, and are supported through both placements by these practitioners.
